History and additional information

The first-generation Volkswagen Golf was introduced in 1974 as the successor to the Beetle and became one of the defining compact cars of its era. Its simple design, front-wheel-drive layout and practical hatchback body helped establish the formula that would become synonymous with the Golf name.

This late-model Volkswagen Golf Mk1 was first registered in Germany and was later purchased by the current owner in Lithuania. The car is powered by the original 1.1-litre petrol engine producing 50 HP. The body was already in very good condition with no significant rust, but had previously been repainted in a lighter shade of green. The current owner restored the car to its original colour.
