This 1988 Volkswagen Scirocco Scala is a limited version of the second-generation Scirocco, introduced in the late 1980s. The Scala stood out with its specific exterior look and interior, and the edition was offered in selected markets as Scirocco production was nearing its end.
This particular example has undergone a major mechanical upgrade and, according to the seller, is in good mechanical condition and very good technical condition. The body has no holes. The original 95 HP K-Jetronic engine was replaced with a 2.0-liter 115 HP petrol engine from a Volkswagen Passat, together with the complete fuel injection system. The conversion also included replacing the engine management wiring harness, the complete clutch, fuel tank, brake lines, and high-pressure fuel pump. The seats have been restored using upholstery based on original material from the 1990s, preserving the period Scirocco character.
