This 1985 Ford Sierra is a rear-wheel-drive model with the 1.8-litre Pinto engine and 5-speed manual transmission.
According to the seller, the car was imported from Germany to Lithuania in 1997. It was later acquired by Sierra enthusiasts who planned to build it into a drift car, but its condition led them to keep the car intact instead. The current owner bought it after several changes of ownership, drove it during the 2013 season and then stored it for several years. It has recently been recommissioned and returned to working condition.
The car remains mostly original, including the factory radio and brown-tinted windows. It was built without a sunroof or rear window wiper. According to the seller, the left front wing and left door have previously been painted, while the front grille was recently repainted.
Recent work includes a new timing belt and alternator belt, ignition-system overhaul, carburettor overhaul and tuning, engine oil and filter replacement, gearbox oil and rear seal work, valve-seal replacement and adjustment, a new camshaft-cover gasket, paint correction and restoration of the side-moulding chrome strips. Missing interior parts have also been sourced, and new tyres have been fitted and balanced.
The car has valid technical inspection and insurance and can be registered as a historical vehicle. It is currently in Vilnius, with shipping to Europe or the USA available through the seller.
The car also comes with reproduction Sierra RS Cosworth body parts imported from the UK, including the front bumper, grille, bonnet, fibreglass rear spoiler and plastic rear bumper. Wheel arches and sills are not included. The rear lower spoiler currently fitted is based on the RS500 version, without the additional cut-out for the upper wing leg.
