History and additional information

This 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII is a four-door rally-prepared sedan, powered by the 2.0‑litre 4G63T turbocharged inline-four paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and all-wheel drive with an active centre differential (ACD).

According to the seller, the car was built in 2009-2012 into a caged rally car, with a stack of invoices from that period. It has a Rallytechnology chrome-moly cage and an accident-free body. The seller identifies it as an Evolution VIII MR (2003 model year) with an aluminium roof, passive rear LSD, ACD and a 5-speed gearbox. It has covered 3,100 km since the build and has never competed in a rally. At 3,000 km it was inspected and adapted to current regulations. The underside has not been refreshed since the build, which the seller cites as confirmation of the low mileage. The technical inspection is valid for one year (expiry date not stated), insurance is in place, and the registration document lists 2 seats.

The seller states the engine was inspected: OEM bearings in perfect condition, new ARP rod bolts, a complete new OEM timing belt kit, an 18-1 multi-tooth trigger wheel, a new OEM water pump, balance shafts deleted, and new spark plugs, valve cover gaskets and oil seals. Covers and bolts were sandblasted and re-zinc-plated, with new OEM gaskets on the intake and exhaust manifolds. The oil pump was inspected and the filter housing cleaned. Compression is stated as 12 bar on every cylinder, and the injectors were cleaned and flow-tested. The car has a new Walbro 255 fuel pump, the stock tank with a new filler neck, and Teflon stainless-braided lines routed inside the car with crimped AN fittings. The turbo is the stock Evo IX unit, inspected and balanced, with the hot side wrapped in heat shielding.

A 34 mm restrictor is fitted for current RSMP, Rally Legend and Czech CMPR regulations. A full-flow adapter is supplied for events without a restrictor, and the seller says the swap takes 5 minutes.

The 5-speed gearbox, which the seller says is much stronger than the Evo’s 6-speed, was inspected and received new 2nd and 3rd gear synchros, new OEM side seals and oil. The stock 240 mm clutch is stated to be in very good condition. The transfer case, rear differential (LSD, locked to 4.5 kg) and final drive were inspected, with new OEM bearings and seals, new ATF in the transfer case and Motul 75W-140 in the differential. Included: a Kevlar-aramid under-engine plate, to be fitted by the buyer.
