1981 Porsche 924 – a sports coupe with a “transaxle” gearbox, “Mocha” brown bodywork, and a brown interior.

According to the seller, the car was purchased at the end of 2014, after which it underwent a full “restomod” project. The work is said to have taken five years and required more than €10,000 in investment. Bodywork was completed before the car was repainted in its original and fairly rare “Mocha” brown color, also known as “Mokkaschwarz”. The underside has been coated with a sound-deadening coating similar to the factory finish, and the body cavities have been protected with an anti-corrosion coating.

The suspension has been modified to the M471 sport package configuration (more detail in the modifications section). Chassis components were sandblasted and either zinc-plated or powder-coated. The engine was fully rebuilt using new, original parts. Fuel delivery and ignition components are new or restored, and a lightweight flywheel and new clutch kit have also been fitted.

The headlights have been converted to U.S. specification, and can be returned to European spec if needed. Yellow “Hella Comet 450” driving lights / daytime running lights have also been fitted.

The interior is assembled from parts from different 924 generations, but the original brown “Porsche” door cards specific to the 1981 model year have been retained. The cabin heater has been modified for greater efficiency, and the original quartz clock has been replaced with an engine oil temperature gauge. The clock itself is integrated into the Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB head unit.

The Audi Sport steering wheel shown in the photos is not included in the sale, but the original four-spoke leather steering wheel is included. The rear hatch is the early type, without a rear wiper hole. The car also has a working cargo cover, a collapsible spare wheel, a jack, and the original compressor. All locks (ignition, doors, rear hatch, and fuel filler cap) operate with one key; two original keys are included.

The car is registered as a historic vehicle. The technical inspection is valid until 2027. The seller would like to keep the current license plates. Buyers who do not negotiate the asking price will additionally receive the original tool kit, a “Thule” roof rack with bike carriers, a set of winter wheels, and other accessories. The seller can also provide photos of the restoration process.
