This 1981 Porsche 924 is a front-engined transaxle coupe finished in Mocha Brown with a brown interior.
According to the seller, the car was purchased at the end of 2014 and then underwent a full restomod build. The project reportedly took five years and involved more than €10,000 of investment. The bodywork was completed before the car was resprayed in its original and relatively rare Mocha Brown colour, also known as Mokkaschwarz. The underside was coated with a sound-deadening material similar to the factory finish, while the body cavities were treated for rust protection.
The suspension is based on a modified M471 sport package setup with a detailed description in the modifications section. The chassis components were sandblasted and finished in zinc plating or powder coating. The engine has been fully rebuilt using new and genuine parts. The fuel delivery and ignition components are new or refurbished, while a lightweight flywheel and new clutch kit have also been installed.
The headlights have been converted to US specification, although this can be returned to European specification. Additional yellow Hella Comet 450 driving and daytime lights have also been fitted.
The interior combines parts from different 924 generations while retaining the original brown “PORSCHE” door panels specific to the 1981 model year. The heater box has been modified for improved efficiency, and the original quartz clock has been replaced with an engine oil temperature gauge. The clock itself is integrated into a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB head unit.
The Audi Sport steering wheel shown is not included in the sale, but the original four-spoke leather steering wheel is included. The rear hatch is an early-style lid without a rear wiper hole. The car also comes with a working cargo cover, inflatable spare wheel, jack and original Porsche compressor. All locks, including the ignition, doors, hatch and fuel filler cap, work with one key, and two original keys are included.
The car is registered as a historic vehicle, making H-plate registration straightforward. The inspection is valid until 2027. The seller would like to keep the current number plates. Buyers who do not negotiate the asking price will also receive the original tool kit, a Thule roof rack with bicycle holders, a set of winter wheels and other extras. Before-and-after photos from the restoration process are available.
